The all-new W175, the latest model in the “W” family, is an authentic retro model destined for the Asian market. A classy alternative to commuters and sport models, the W175 welcomes riders to “W” world – a world of serenity carved out of the hustle and bustle of crowded city streets, a world of glamourous and fashionably good looks, a
world… a class above.
Powered by a 177 cm3 Single, the W175 offers a displacement advantage over 150cc-class rivals. Ample torque makes it easy to operate, minimising stress so that riders can focus on the ride. A 5-speed transmission and an engine balancer that tames unwanted vibrations also contribute to a fun, comfortable ride. The engine features the build of engine from a class above, delivering excellent durability.
Tuning of the highly rigid frame contributes to the W175’s unhurried handling character. The sturdy frame also offers excellent durability – the quality customers have come to expect from a Kawasaki product. The semi-double cradle configuration complements the retro styling, its simple design lending itself to customisation. Swingarm length was chosen to give the W175 classic proportions, and contributes to the bike’s unhurried handling.
A ø30 mm telescopic fork at the front is backed up by dual shocks at the rear. The front and rear suspension work with the rigid frame, providing good shock absorption for a comfortable ride while offering firm enough damping to enable fun riding. Fork boots protect the fork inner tubes, and contribute to the W175’s retro looks – as does the dual shock rear suspension.
The handlebar, seat and footpegs put the rider in a natural position, contributing to rider comfort and making the W175 ideal for a wide range of riding applications. The stepped seat design, similar to the one on the W800, contributes to the W175’s retro looks. Thickly cushioned double seat dampens vibrations, and helps realise the relaxed riding position, ensuring good comfort for both rider and passenger.
The W175’s peashooter-style muffler contributes to the retro image. The exhaust’s curved header pipe complements the design of the engine. And the muffler’s clear, crisp exhaust note adds to rider enjoyment.
In addition to the standard W175, a SE model will also be available. Original colour and graphics, special equipment and a number of accessories fit standard give it an even higher-grade image.
