KLX230 (2023)

POWERFUL, LIGHT, MANOEUVRABLE DUAL PURPOSE MACHINE: SPORTIER, MORE AGGRESSIVE STYLING

KLX230 (2023)

With the KLX230 enjoying popularity among trail enthusiasts in both Western and Asian markets, updates to Kawasaki’s highly capable dual purpose model help strengthen the KLX brand. The engine and chassis, both designed with trail riding in mind, remain largely the same, so the powerful, light and manoeuvrable character is carried over. Sportier, more aggressive looks come care of a compact new LED headlight, headlight cover and front fender. Updated ABS allows riders to disable the rear ABS for more active off-road control. For Asian markets, Special Edition models feature a sporty inverted fork. And as before, low-seat models make trail riding fun available to a wider range of riders.

Sportier, More Aggressive Styling

Replacing the current bulb headlight, a compact new LED headlight is the centrepiece of the KLX230’s sportier, more aggressive front-end. The new headlight unit is shorter front-to-back, giving the area a much sleeker look. Revised headlight cover contributes to the design.

Sporty front fender contributes to the more aggressive front-end design.

Inverted Front Fork (KLX230 SE)

SE models feature a ø37 mm inverted fork, instead of the conventional telescopic found on the standard and low-seat models. The new fork contributes to sportier looks.

Engine Fine-Tuning

Revised ECU settings offer a number of improvements:

- Lower fast-idle speed reduces engine noise when the engine is warming up.
- Revised atmospheric correction results in improved power delivery when riding at high altitudes.
- Revisions to the fuel injection map offer improved throttle response in cold temperatures.

Generator capacity optimised to suit the change to the new LED headlight (18.0 A at 5,000 min-1 >> 16.5 A at 5,000 min-1).

Increased fuel injection volume allows Thai-market models to use E20 fuel.
